Our view in brief
The Roccbox remains interesting if you want a compact oven that mainly lives on the terrace, with the option to add a wood burner. It was listed at €399.99 on 24 August 2026, with the gas burner and a peel stated as included in the box.
Do not buy it expecting a lightweight oven. Gozney gives a weight just below 20 kg. It can be loaded into a car and its legs fold, but the 13.5 kg Tread is more coherent for frequent trips.
Portable means transportable
With its legs open, the Roccbox is 473 mm high, 540 mm deep and 413 mm wide. The opening measures 300 × 88 mm and the stone 310 × 340 mm. The format is therefore aimed at individual 30 cm pizzas.
Its folding legs and removable burner make storage easier. Its weight changes the meaning of “portable”, however: from the garage to the terrace, yes; carried for any distance, much less so.
What is included reduces the initial purchase
The Gozney product page lists the oven, removable propane burner, a peel and the manual in the box. That package is useful beside a bare oven because a launching peel is not an optional accessory.
Still check the country-appropriate regulator, the cover and the surface on which the oven will stand. The promotional price alone does not give you the complete budget.
Wood is an option, not an obligation
A removable wood burner is sold separately. This option distinguishes the Roccbox from the propane-only Tread. It also adds wood storage, fire management and ash removal.
If you already know you will always use gas, do not choose the Roccbox solely for this possibility. Compare the price, weight and transport arrangements instead.
Roccbox or Tread
The Tread costs €499.99 and weighs 13.5 kg. It adds carrying handles and an outdoor ecosystem. The Roccbox weighs about 6 kg more, but it was cheaper when we checked and includes a peel according to the product page.
We would take the Tread for weekends away, camping or frequent journeys. We would keep the Roccbox for a compact terrace, a few trips by car and a genuine desire to try wood.
Who it is for, and when to avoid it
The Roccbox suits a first 30 cm gas oven with a compact, semi-permanent setup. Avoid it if every kilogram matters, if you want large pizzas or if the oven will have to be carried far from the car.
