The oven price is only the first line
Do not spend the whole budget on the appliance. A gas oven without a suitable connection or peel is not yet usable equipment. Conversely, buying accessories already included in the box makes the basket bigger without improving the evening.
I would build the budget in three stages: the exact oven, the complete installation and each meal’s running expenses. Below, actual official prices are separated from simulation allowances used to explain the calculation. Those allowances are editable assumptions, not offers or market-average prices.
Three checked prices, three box contents
French manufacturer pages checked on 7 September 2026, for the oven alone. These prices can change.
| Starting point | Official price recorded | What avoids or requires an addition |
|---|---|---|
| Cuisinart CPZ120E | €399.90 | Stone, folding peel, deep pan and cutter listed in the box |
| Ooni Volt 2 | €599 | Stone and rack listed; no peel on the official list |
| Ooni Koda 2 Pro | €699 | Hose and regulator excluded from the 37 mbar version intended for France |
An accessory absent from the list is not automatically essential. Our peel guide helps with suitable width; our thermometer guide explains what a surface reading adds. Start with equipment you already have.
Three first-installation simulations
Only the oven row uses an observed price. Every other amount is chosen for this simulation. Replace each with a quote suitable for your installation. Zero means “already owned, included, unnecessary or assumed free of charges” here, never “free everywhere”.
| Item in euros | Cuisinart, equipped kitchen | Volt 2, two tools to add | Koda 2 Pro, outdoor setup to equip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Oven, dated official price | 399.90 | 599 | 699 |
| Peel, assumption | 0 | 40 | 50 |
| Thermometer, assumption | 0 | 40 | 40 |
| Suitable table, assumption | 0 | 0 | 150 |
| Compatible hose and regulator, assumption | 0 | 0 | 50 |
| Cylinder deposit, assumption | 0 | 0 | 30 |
| First gas fill, assumption | 0 | 0 | 35 |
| Protection and storage, assumption | 0 | 0 | 50 |
| Delivery, assumption | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| Simulation total | 399.90 | 679 | 1,104 |
The point is not that a Koda always costs €1,104. It is that €405 of assumed equipment costs are added to the oven here. Already owning a suitable table, peel and compatible cylinder changes the result. A location requiring building work increases it. The table’s assumed price proves nothing about its load capacity, stability or compliance with the manual’s clearances.
The indoor scenario assumes an already suitable worktop, electrical circuit and clearances. All three totals exclude ingredients, electricity, maintenance, repairs and replacement equipment. They do not claim to provide a full ownership cost over several years.
Add each evening’s running cost separately
For electricity, use consumed energy in kWh × your actual price per kWh. A simulation using 0.8 kWh and €0.25/kWh gives €0.20. Both numbers are assumptions, not a model’s consumption or your tariff. Rated power alone does not establish consumption when heating is regulated.
For gas, calculate mass consumed × actual gas price per kilogram. Separate the cylinder deposit from the fuel purchased. We do not publish comparative consumption across these three appliances or derive annual savings from one number.
Finally add flour, toppings, cleaning and eventual replacement. Dividing the initial cost by an imagined number of evenings can help plan a purchase; it does not establish that buying pays for itself.
What I would keep in the basket
A compatible peel and a suitable installation come before convenience accessories. A second peel, branded furniture or a mixer are not automatic purchases. The need should follow diameter, storage and dough quantity, not the number of items in a bundle.
To choose the oven, our indoor comparison separates included equipment and controls; the Koda 2 Pro / Arc XL comparison covers footprint and gas connection. Then return to this table, replace every assumption with your figure and compare complete baskets.
