Our view in brief
For 30 to 32 cm pizzas and an oven that stays on the terrace, we would look at the Arc before the Arc XL. It weighs 21.5 kg, costs €699.99 and states a 35 cm capacity. That already leaves a little room around the pizza without taking over the whole table.
The Arc XL adds €200, 5 kg and 5 cm to the stated diameter. That difference makes sense for regularly baking large pizzas or keeping the dough farther from the flame. It is harder to justify if your dough balls always finish at 30 cm.
Measure the table, not just the pizza
The Arc is 480 mm wide, 564 mm deep and 342 mm high. Its chamber measures 377 × 462 × 173 mm. These figures explain the installation better than the product page’s “14-inch” label alone.
Allow enough depth for the oven, the hose and your movements in front of the opening. At 21.5 kg, two people can move the Arc, but it will be much easier to live with if it keeps its place between bakes.
The 35 cm format is mainly a working margin
A 35 cm pizza is the stated maximum. For everyday use, a 30 to 32 cm pizza leaves more room for the peel and turning. That margin matters beside a lateral flame, especially while the dough is still soft at the start of the bake.
We do not promise an easier bake from the specification sheet alone. The useful point is simpler: the Arc gives you more room than a 30 cm oven without reaching the size or price of the Arc XL.
What the XL’s extra €200 really buys
The Arc XL is 530 mm wide, weighs 26.5 kg and states a 40 cm pizza capacity. It offers a wider and deeper interior. Our dedicated guide also shows that a 40 cm pizza sits very close to the flame and requires a precise movement.
The extra money therefore buys room, not a guarantee of better pizza. If you never make very large pizzas, the Arc looks better balanced.
Simple gas, simple setup
The Arc runs on propane, and Gozney states a removable 20 mm cordierite floor, a temperature display and a maximum of 500°C. These details describe the equipment. They are not enough to predict your heating time, which will also depend on the weather, the setting and the point measured on the stone.
The main practical advantage remains gas: ignition, adjustment and shut-down without managing wood or ash. If tending a fire is part of the appeal, look instead at the Roccbox with its optional burner or the Dome range.
Who it is for, and when to avoid it
The Arc suits a stable terrace setup, propane and pizzas around 30 cm. Avoid it if the oven must travel often — the Tread was designed for that — or if 40 cm pizzas are genuinely your usual format.
