Two pizzas at once, if you genuinely need them

The Koda 2 Max takes one 50 cm pizza or two 30 cm pizzas at the same time. Its two gas zones are adjusted separately. On paper, it is the oven for large gatherings. Its 43 kg weight quickly recalls the trade-off. This model stays in place; it does not go away after dinner.

We would choose it only if two people often cook together or to serve a large group. For four pizzas on a Saturday evening, a smaller oven and good organisation will cost less and take up far less room.

Two zones do not automatically double the pace

Each half has its own control. You can target two temperatures or switch one side off. Two sequences show two pizzas baking together. They prove the movement is possible, not that you will serve twice as many pizzas throughout an evening.

Two pizzas also require two peels, two turning rhythms and a great deal of attention. In one session, they do not finish at exactly the same time. The dough, stretching and position on the stone vary from one pizza to the next.

The wind still has a say

One very windy day shows a difficult rise in temperature. On a second day described as windless, the two stones reach about 440°C and 412°C after 25 minutes. Another session shows 400°C after 23 min 40 s. An infrared thermometer lets you monitor these two zones separately. These readings do not follow the same protocol and do not provide a reference time.

One documented pizza bakes in 60 seconds after a launch at around 488°C, with several turns. A second bake launched at a lower temperature takes longer. The dual zones therefore remove neither the effect of the wind, nor stone recovery, nor the need for attention.

A large oven for a fairly specific audience

The Koda 2 Max makes sense for a large family, an enthusiast who often hosts or a pair already comfortable with launching. It needs a suitable table, a suitable gas supply and a position dedicated to the oven.

We would rule it out for a beginner. Learning to turn two pizzas in front of two zones adds difficulty while the dough already demands full attention. The Koda 2 or Koda 2 Pro gives the cook more time.

The budget gets wider too

The real cost does not stop at the oven. You need a sufficiently wide table, a cover, two peels and a comfortable gas supply. At 80 × 72.2 × 42.8 cm, you must also consider access, wind and protection from rain.

What we can genuinely conclude

The available videos show simultaneous baking, but not a long series repeated with the same dough and readings from both stones. We cannot state pizzas per hour, consumption or an average time saving. The Koda 2 Max is a specialised oven. Its value depends on how often its two zones will genuinely be used.
